Gol D.Roger was the Captain of the Roger pirates and commanded one of the most famous & notorious pirate crews in history. The Roger Pirates are the only crew to reach Raftel, the end of the New World in the Grand Line. Roger’s crew was known to be the strongest crew to sail the Grand Line. Even though the crew disbanded, the Marines would never allow the crew to be forgotten. If a crew member is encountered, the Marines cannot simply let them go. Buggy- Buggy the ‘Star’ Clown is the captain of the Buggy Pirates. He served as a cabin boy on Roger’s ship with Shanks where he accidentally swallowed the Chop-Chop DF (being surprised by Shanks) and got his powers. 10 THINGS YOU SHOULD KNOW ABOUT PORTGAS D ACE



1. Ace is the first known Devil Fruit user to die. He is also the first major character in One Piece who died outside of flashbacks.


2. His bounty, being at 550,000,000 Berries before his death, was the highest amount revealed in the series before the timeskip.


3. Ace would have been 21 if he were born on time. Instead he is 20 because his mother held him in her womb for eleven months past his due date, meaning he spent a total of twenty months inside her womb, instead of the usual nine.


4. The status of Shichibukai was offered to Portgas D. Ace, but he refused the offer. This is the only known time an invitation into the organization had been rejected.


5.Ace being captain of the Spade Pirates, is a pun on the “Ace of spades”, or “spadille”.


6. Ace shares the same birthday as the creator of the series, Eiichiro Oda(January 1).


7. Had Ace been a girl, he would have been named “Anne”.




8. Ace shares some similarities with Sanji, as they are both pirates, and they both considered another person to be their fathers (Edward Newgate for Ace, Zeff for Sanji). They are both the sons of kings, but not referred as princes.




9. Universal Studios of Japan has built a replica of Ace’s and Whitebeard’s tombs. Ace’s epitaph says: “Ace, may your soul be eternal. Your brave soul will always be with us.” This epitaph was also shown in Episode 663 of the anime.


10. In the 6th Japanese Fan Polls, Ace ranked as the fifth most popular character in One Piece making him the most popular of the Whitebeard Pirates and also the most popular deceased character in the One Piece series.
