Hey guys. One Piece is full of a huge variety of characters. They range from the strongest beings such as the Yonkou to the lowly Higuma. Not all of the Characters are ranked properly and there are many such characters who would love to be ranked properly.
This would also make things easier for the fans. The people in the Marines are ranked properly and most of the time they are accurate. The problem regarding power scaling arises when we turn towards the pirates.
Currently as we know, there are four Yonkou in the series. All four of them are extremely powerful and are the rulers of the New World. They are overpowered in one way or the other. However, there are certain characters who are in touching distance of the Yonkou. They are very close to this level but they have made a case for themselves with their feats. One of these characters is Dracule Mihawk.
He is one of the well-known characters in the anime world. His swordsmanship is second to none. Mihawk holds the title of the “Strongest Swordsman In The World”. Dracule Mihawk is in possession of the all black blade Yoru. It is one of the supreme grade swords. Everyone seems to believe that Mihawk is Yonkou level. What evidence is there to prove this? It is clear that he is a cut above most people in the One Piece world.
However, the Yonkou are a different league of their own. So, how exactly can Mihawk be called Yonkou level. The biggest proof that one uses in this debate, is that Shanks and Mihawk sparred together. They used to have gruesome duels. The tales of these duels were known throughout the world.
Another proof to defend the claim of the fans, is the title that Mihawk holds. Mihawk’s title holds some significance and being called the Strongest Swordsman is no joke. As you can see, throught the entire series of One Piece we have seen the significance of swordsman. There are many strong swordsman being introduced and we have zoro and his dream. Later in Wano, we will be introduced by the Shogun which is the swordsman of Wano and it is rumoured to be strong.
Seeing all these strong swordsman in One Piece makes me wonder why Mihawk stands at the top because holding on to a title of strongest swordsman in the world showed him as the pinnacle of all the swordsman. If you look at the Yonkou title such as Whitebeard and Kaidou, even though they might have lost at some point in their early life, they still hold the Strongest Man In the World and Strongest Creature in the World.
In my opinion, Mihawk is in touching distance of the title of Yonkou. It will be worth seeing whether or not, he can really do the things that are expected from a Yonkou.
